Game 1:  There is nothing negative to say about this game which was an all-around excellent performance for the Brewers. Freddy Peralta got the start in the home opener and tossed six shutout innings while striking out seven batters.  Offensively the Brewers did not disappoint. They scored 10 runs in the game, seven of which came in the fifth inning. The Brewers got their first home run of the season from Brian Anderson and Brice Turang’s first career home run, a grand slam, broke the game open for the Brewers. The offense looked like a well-oiled machine.  They were working…

Game 1 (Opening Day):  Opening day was rather disappointing for the Brewers. Corbin Burnes was named the opening-day starter but the former Cy Young struggled. He pitched five innings of four run ball, struck out just three batters, and left many pitches over the plate. A rough day for Corbin Burnes and the Brewers’ offense staying very quiet resulted in a 4-0 loss.  The positives to take away from this game came from the rookies. Rule 5 Pick Gus Varland made his Major League Debut and threw a scoreless frame and Brice Turang recorded his first Major League hit. All…

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Luke Voit

There has been lots of news today for the Milwaukee Brewers including a Luke Voit signing and the Brewers’ opening day roster is now complete. Here are the final moves that were made.  Gus Varland:  The Rule 5 Pick left the Brewers a tough choice and they ultimately decided to keep him on the team. After struggling in AA last season the 26-year-old has been impressed this spring. Varland will likely have a multi-inning role out of the bullpen for the Brewers and needs to remain on the roster all season or he will be offered back to the Dodgers.…

With the 2023 season close to being underway and everyone getting excited about the return of baseball, now seems like the perfect time to share some predictions for the 2023 campaign. Here are three predictions that might be a little out there but could also come true. Brandon Woodruff Wins First Cy Young Award  The Brewers rotation is very exciting and is led by Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes.  Starting pitching is by far the best part of this team. However other players such as Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta have also been very impressive and seem to lose some…

Green Bay Packers

Let’s face it every Green Bay Packers offseason includes a lot of Aaron Rodgers drama with him eventually just saying he’s going to come back and play for Green Bay again. Despite moments like Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers posting that it was going to be their last dance 2 years ago. Which turned out to be Davante Adams’s last dance. Even though the Packers had to trade Rodgers’ top wide receiver to the Raiders and the Broncos were willing to give up multiple first-round picks for Rodgers last year Rodgers would decide to return to the Packers. There have…

The Brewers have a lot of competition for spots on their roster this year. Leaving many fans wondering who’s going to make the team. Most people talk about the same few players but if there’s anything we’ve learned over the years of watching the Brewers it’s that there are always surprises with the Brewers roster. Players you might have thought for sure would make the team might not and players you may have written off could have breakout seasons. These are a few players that people may not have considered.  Player 1: Tyson Miller  The Brewers bullpen has…

Acquired Right-Handed Pitcher Javy Guerra (B-) The Brewers acquired Javy Guerra for a player to be named later. Since we don’t know what the Brewers gave up yet I can’t really say how good of a move this is. Guerra isn’t a super-known pitcher and has mostly struggled in his MLB career. What I will say is that in 17 appearances for the Rays last season Guerra posted a solid 3.38 ERA. Though more advanced stats would show that Guerra might have gotten a little lucky as his FIP over these games was 5.30. Guerra is likely to win a…

Milwaukee Brewers new outfielder/DH Jesse Winker

As most of us have learned by now the Brewers are by no means a rich team but they have a very crafty front office that is great at making under-the-radar moves to help them win. We’ve seen this many times where a random player has a career season in Milwaukee. This year I think the Brewers have made their biggest under-the-radar move yet. While most people have looked at the offseason and mostly focused on getting William Contreras which don’t get me wrong is a great move and will help us out a lot I think the Brewers’ best…

With the Brewers looking to compete for the NL Central once again and also putting an emphasis on getting younger and saving money it’s easy for us fans to wonder who is safe and who isn’t on the roster. Every roster spot matters and the Brewers want the best talent they can get for each spot. Making these 2 players prime candidates to be traded.  Player 1: Keston Hiura  With Tellez at first base and Winker at DH and both of them being projected to improve this season Keston Hiura doesn’t really have a clear role for the team right…
