Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are in the midst of another uncertain off-season. There have been rumors swirling around social media regarding an Aaron Rodgers trade. Rodgers addressed those rumors today saying it is all “conjecture.” He also had a message for the New York Jets and the future of their current roster. This came just hours after the Jets’ owner said he would “be happy to pay the two first-round draft pick asking price” for Aaron Rodgers.
New York Jets Need To Focus On Offensive Coordinator Going Forward
The Jets have been heavily rumored to be interested in QB Aaron Rodgers. From the owner’s comments (mentioned above) to Joe Namath even trying to recruit the four-time MVP. Today on The Pat McAfee Show Aaron Rodgers didn’t address being traded to the Jets, instead, he talked about what they could do to make QB Zach Wilson better:
I hope that whoever they decide to go with at coordinator can come in and work with him, and kind of breakdown a lot of the fundamentals for him and get him playing on time. I think he’s talented enough to have a long career in the league.
Zach Wilson struggled in 2022 once again after having a rough 2021 rookie season. The number two overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft has accumulated 4,022 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions over his first two seasons in the NFL. Wilson did, however, get the best of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in week six of the 2022 NFL season. Wilson finished that game with 110 passing yards, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions, and a 55% completion rate.
The Jets moved on from their previous Offensive Coordinator, Mike LaFleur, in early January. After a season highlighted by profound struggles on offense and the regression of quarterback Zach Wilson the Jets decided to move on. Mike LaFleur is the brother of Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur. After Aaron Rodgers’ comments, many speculated that his comments suggested he was not interested in being traded to the Jets:
Basically saying he has no interest in playing for Jets lol
