The Green Bay Packers have typically been a team loaded with terrific fantasy football options. Guys like Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, Greg Jennings, Ryan Grant, Jermichael Finley, Ahman Green, and Clay Matthews have been fantasy studs. All of those Packers legends are gone, but the new wave of fantasy football producers have arrived in Title Town.
3 Packers to Smash
TE Luke Musgrave
Luke Musgrave certainly looks like the next big thing at Tight End. The rookie out of Oregon State is 3rd amongst rookie TEs in receptions and yards, trailing only Sam Laporta and Dalton Kincade.
WR Christian Watson
Christian Watson burst on the scene as a rookie last season with 41 receptions, 611 yards, and 7 TDs. This season has been a bit of a disappointment, but that has more to do with the Packers’ QB situation than Watson’s ability…but we will get to that soon. At 6’4, 207lbs, Watson possesses a freak size/athletic combo.
LB Quay Walker
Second year LB Quay Walker is an elite IDP asset in dynasty leagues. Currently ranking in the top 25 in tackles in the NFL, Walker is another freak athlete in the Packers organization. The former Georgia Bulldog has been battling a groin injury as of late, but when fully healthy, he is an All-Pro calliber defender.
3 Packers to Fade
QB Jordan Love
Green Bay caused quite a few people to scratch their heads when they drafted Jordan Love with the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. With future Hall of Fame QB Aaron Rodgers on the roster, the selection of Love created a rift between Rodgers and the Packers management. Now in his first season as the organization’s starter, Love is struggling in a bad way. One has to wonder if Love is in their long-term plans with a solid QB class entering the 2024 draft.
RB Aaron Jones
Running Backs have a short shelf-life and it seems like Aaron Jones’ time could be coming to an end in Green Bay sooner rather than later. The 28 year old is averaging his lowest per carry average of his career and has only scored 8 rushing TDs in his last 37 games played. Having battled a hamstring injury this season, Jones has only played 5 games.
RB AJ Dillon
Another selection in the 2020 NFL Draft (number 62 overall in the 2nd round), AJ Dillon is 3 yards and a cloud of dust type of RB. That just doesn’t work in fantasy football. Dillon has been fairly unproductive and the Packers could look to move on in the offseason.
