NFL Wrap-up From Week Two
After an action-packed Sunday, it was an exciting doubleheader for Monday Night Football. Gone are the days of marathon Monday night games; now we have two games with staggered starts.
The first game kicked off at 7:15 p.m. ET, with the New Orleans Saints edging the Carolina Panthers in an enticing NFC South matchup. The Saints made it three on a two-touchdown performance from former practice squad running back Tony Jones Jr.
Coach Dennis Allen had this to say on Jones Jr.: “It was awesome,” Saints coach Dennis Allen said. “He was great. We ran the ball effectively. I think we blocked it up front and he made the right cuts. You know, two touchdowns on the game. It was big for him and big for us.”

The second game began at the traditional Monday Night Football time of 8:15 p.m. ET, as the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted division rivals Cleveland Browns.
Known for its defense, the Steelers D came to play. Early, Alex Highsmith picked Deshaun Watson on the game’s opening play. A pick-six set the tone. Then, trailing late, TJ Watt stripped Watson, grabbing the ball for a second defensive touchdown. Pittsburgh 26, Cleveland 22.

Injuries have exacerbated the situation, and even with a mostly healthy defensive depth chart, the output is showing cracks versus last season.
The concerns surrounding the Eagles offense are relatively less daunting, but the passing game has endured a slow start. It appears to have regressed into a touchdown-or-check-down strategy reminiscent of Jalen Hurts’ early career, rather than maintaining the diverse approach from the previous season.
