Recruiting insiders initially evaluated the consensus four-star prospect as an offensive lineman. Throughout his recruitment, however, the Brookline, Massachusetts native was courted to play on the defensive line by several schools. Andrews has announced his intention to play at the next level on defense.
At six-foot-five inches and 260 pounds, the Dexter School product earned a spot as a top 100 player in his class according to the 247Sports Composite.
In June, Andrews visited his final three schools. Following his visit with the Wisconsin football staff, he told 247Sports that he is “a priority” for the Badgers staff. He added that “it was great to sit down and talk football with [defensive line] coach [Greg] Scruggs.”
Multiple industry experts have entered predictions for Andrews to land at Penn State. The prospect said that Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin feels PSU “can’t let [Andrews] go anywhere else.”
Franklin and Fickell have competed for several recruits in the 2024 class. Three of the top five players from the state of Wisconsin have announced commitments to Penn State. Meanwhile, four 2024 recruits from Pennsylvania committed to play college football in Madison.
