Penn State Football Recruiting Lands Another Top Wisconsin Tackle

The Penn State Football Recruiting staff must camp out somewhere in the state of Wisconsin or something. They landed another recruit from the state of Wisconsin over the last month, and according to 247 Sports, they landed offensive tackle Garrett Sexton.

Sexton is 6’7″ and weighs 245 lbs. He currently attends Arrowhead High School and is residing in Hartland, Wisc. Penn State Football Recruiting loves big offensive linemen in the trenches. He is a three/four-star recruit and is ranked ninth overall in the state out of 19 kids on the website.

There is an interesting list of events that went into Garrett Sexton’s decision-making. Back on March 28, he had an unofficial college visit to the Badgers, and two days later, he had an unofficial college visit to the Nittany Lions. Penn State did not offer him anything until March 4.

The Wisconsin Badgers made an offer to him on April 21, but three days later decided to commit to playing collegiate football with the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was supposed to not make a decision on his collegiate football career until May 1, but decided to move up the process.

On his Twitter page, his top four original choices were Penn State, Oklahoma Sooners, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Minnesota Golden Gophers. It’s interesting that a Wisconsin kid would have Minnesota in his top four in the first place, considering that it is the Wisconsin Badgers’ top rival every single season. He did visit Minnesota just a couple of weeks before, on April 8.

Anyhow, Garrett Sexton is joining another elite Penn State Football Recruiting class by head coach James Franklin. Sexton is one of four offensive linemen to commit in the class of 2024 to Happy Valley. He is also joining two of the top two recruits in the state of Wisconsin already in Donovan Harbour (IOL) and Corey Smith (RB). Garrett Sexton is a high football player that the Wisconsin Badgers know they let one slip away for Luke Fickell’s program and a massive gain for the Penn State Nittany Lions program.
