After a buzzer beater expert prediction was logged, the Wisconsin football staff has landed a major recruiting target.
Nicolas Clayton, a three-star edge rusher from Florida, has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers after previously appearing to be a Florida State Seminoles lock. The Florida native will now attend Madison for his collegiate career which further extends the pipeline for the Badgers staff. Clayton is now the 21st commitment in the 2025 recruiting class for the Badgers, which should further raise their class ranking.
Wisconsin Football Staff Lands Physical Edge Rusher Nicolas Clayton
After close recruiting and an excellent official visit, the Wisconsin football staff has landed three-star 2025 edge rusher Nicolas Clayton. Clayton had appeared to be a lock to stay in the state of Florida, however, the Wisconsin staff made a great impression during his visit and took the lead at the end of his recruitment.
Clayton had been an under-the-radar recruit for quite some time, but emerged this past season on the field. the edge rusher currently holds 25 scholarship offers and took five official visits before making his final commitment decision.
What Does Clayton Offer the Wisconsin Badgers Football Defense?
Clayton is a big, versatile edge rusher that provide quite a lot for the Wisconsin defense. The recruit measures in at 6-feet-5-inches and nearly 210-pounds without pads on. As big as he may be, the edge rusher also has incredible speed for his size and great pursuit ability that allows him to make plays from behind.
Clayton is an excellent fit for the Wisconsin football defense due to not only his size but the physicality that he plays football with. The aggression and big plays that Clayton is able to produce go far beyond what his three-star rating may suggest to some.
With the Commitment of Clayton, Who Is Next for the Wisconsin Football Staff?
With the commitment of Clayton coming right at the end of his recruitment, Wisconsin is looking to replicate the commitment with another recruit. Wide receiver Muizz Tounkara could be the closer for the 2025 recruiting class that the Badgers need. Wisconsin has made the final three for Tounkara, who has set his commitment decision for July 13th.
The Badgers are up against Arizona and Kansas as the decision of the wide receiver Tounkara looms.
