There are two teams that Milwaukee could face in the Wild Card Series, but three teams that are in the mix for the final two spots in the 2024 playoffs. The Arizona Diamondbacks or the New York Mets will be the Brewers first round opponent, but the Atlanta Braves are in the mix for the fifth seed (would play the San Diego Padres).
When will we know if the Brewers are playing the Arizona Diamondbacks or the New York Mets?
Due to weather the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets have two more games to play yet this year. The teams will meet in Atlanta on Monday, September 30 for a double header. If they split the double header then both organizations will make the playoffs with the Braves having the five seed and New York the six. Should one team sweep the double header that team will make the playoffs as the five seed and the Arizona Diamondbacks would then make it as the six seed.

Despite not knowing who they will be playing the Brewers do know when they will play. The best of three games series begins on Tuesday, October 1 in which the first pitch in Milwaukee is scheduled for 4:32 PM CT. Wednesday’s game is scheduled to start at 6:38 PM CT and if needed Thursday’s game would be at 7:38 PM CT.
