The Wisconsin football staff hosted their first ever “Bucky’s Barbecue” this weekend, which became the clever name for their Junior Day.
Plenty of 2025 recruits were in attendance for an exceptional day as the Wisconsin staff put on quite the show. Some recruits such as Tre Poteat and Michael Roeske visited campus once again, which bodes well for the staff in their recruitments. The Wisconsin staff is looking to shift their focus towards the 2025 class and beyond, and the barbecue may have done just that for the team.
Wisconsin Football Hosts Successful 2025 Junior Day Celebrations In Madison
The Wisconsin Badgers football team is approaching camp as the 2023 season rounds the corner. Despite the ramp-up for the season, the Wisconsin football staff has still been eagerly recruiting plenty of 2024 and 2025 prospects. Recently, the Badgers media team posted the hashtag “Jump Around MadTown ‘25” which graced nearly all their photos. It is clear where the focus of the recruiting staff is, and given the talent in the class, it is also clear why the staff is pushing for more commitments.
The big three Wisconsin football has focused upon as of late are recruits Tre Poteat, Michael Roeske, and Cooper Catalano. All three recruits have become major targets for the Badgers after spending significant time on campus as of late. Roeske and Catalano have both received crystal ball predictions for the Badgers but have yet to release any sort of cut-down on their recruiting interests.
While there were plenty of high-profile recruits in the 2025 class that attended, the top-priority candidates for the Badgers remain to be Poteat, Roeske, and Catalano due to their connection with the staff. Poteat, in particular, has stood out despite his name not being thrown around the media the past weekend. Poteat is a strong, intelligent player the Badgers staff continues to take hard looks at. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Poteat previously, where he made it clear the Badgers have been “…strongly” interested in the recruit.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Excited To Move Forward With 2025 Recruiting Expectations Increased
With the success this off-season for the Badgers staff recruiting wise, both in and out of the transfer portal, plenty of eyes are on the program. Many fans are hoping the Badgers can turn their plentiful talent into success this upcoming season. However, the Wisconsin football staff will keep their eyes on the prize this year; Winning and staying competitive.
In order for Luke Fickell and his staff to hit the lofty goals they have set for themselves they will need to continue to make their 2024 class recruiting success in other classes.
Thus far, the Badgers appear to be making major moves within the 2025 class.
