The month of June has been a success for Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell and his staff. After landing three star corner Jay Harper yesterday, the Badgers are up to 16 recruits in their 2024 class. Nine of those have come in June. Fickell and his staff had great recruiting weekends and it’s beginning to pay off. With the 2024 class in the thick of committing season, here is where Wisconsin stacks up against the rest of the Big Ten and the country.
Current Rankings
According to the recruiting website Rivals, Wisconsin has the 11th ranked recruiting class in 2024. That is good for fifth in the Big Ten. Michigan is ranked second, Ohio State is sixth, Penn State is ninth, and Minnesota is tenth. It’s important to note Minnesota is only ranked that high because they have 23 recruits already. They only have one four star to this point. When it’s this early, your ranking will be higher if you have more recruits. Their 23 is more than anyone else ahead of them. Once more four and five star recruits commit, we’ll see the Golden Gophers ranking drop.
247 Sports ranks the Badgers as the 14th best class. Again that is fifth best in the Big Ten behind the same four teams mentored earlier. Same reasons as above too.
On3 ranks Wisconsin 24th in the country. I am not sure if it’s different metrics but that is fourth best in the Big Ten behind Penn State (12), Michigan (5), and Ohio State (3).
Right now, the Badgers are in good shape with their 2024 class. I don’t see their overall ranking rising or falling much. I very much expect them to hang around the 15-20 range. Assuming it stays that way, that’s a success in my opinion.
