The Wisconsin Badgers extended a scholarship offer to small forward Xzavion Mitchell, becoming the first power conference team to offer the Class of 2025 prospect.
Mitchell had previously received an offer from Cal Poly. Iowa State and Marquette have both shown interest in Mitchell, although there are no confirmed offers yet. Indiana, Green Bay, Milwaukee and Northern Iowa have reportedly also begun recruiting the four-star prospect, according to the Rivals and ESPN rating services. ESPN gave him a scouting grade of 83, while Rivals has him at 88. 247 has not yet given Mitchell a rating.
The news was officially confirmed by Mitchell on Twitter on Saturday.

Mitchell, a 6-foot-8, 210 pound wing out of Oshkosh North, reportedly received the offer while on an unofficial visit to campus on Saturday.
Mitchell averaged 22.4 ppg, 7.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists as a sophomore last year, earning all-Fox Valley league honors. He was also named all-Fox Valley as a freshman, when he averaged 21.8 ppg, 8.4 boards and 2.6 assists. He’s also averaged more than 1.5 steals per game both seasons. He’s also an accurate outside shooter, who knocked down 46 percent shots last year and 36 percent of his three-point attempts.
Where XZavion Mitchell Fits in Wisconsin Badgers’ Plans
Coach Gard is looking to add to his 2025 recruiting class, which currently consists of one commitment—three-star shooting guard Zach Kinzinger, who committed last month. Kinzinger and Mitchell are teammates on the Team Herro AAU team. Mitchell averaged 17.5 ppg and 7.3 rebounds on the EYBL circuit earlier this year.
The Badgers have a total 10 scholarship offers out to the class, including two other small forwards—LaTrevion Fenderson of Racine’s The Prairie School and four-star Davion Hannah of Milwaukee’s Nicolet.
