After ending the 2023 regular season with key performances in the final 2 games, Wisconsin Badgers star safety, Hunter Wohler, has a major decision to make for his future plans with the team. The senior out of Muskego has been a crucial element to the Badger’s defense each of the last 3 seasons, racking up over 150 total tackles and a trio of interceptions.
Wohler’s presence from the safety position has granted him some attention from NFL recruiters, but he also has another year of eligibility left should he want to return to the Badgers for another shot at the Big 10 title. The big leagues await this gifted defensive back when he’s ready to go pro, and his decision to participate in the ReliaQuest bowl on New Year’s Day against (13) LSU could give him a chance at either a grand entrance into next year’s season or a grand finale to his collegiate days.
Hunter Wohler Declares His Love For Wisconsin Football Prior To Decision On His Future
Hunter Wohler has played his heart out for the Wisconsin Badgers so far, and he doesn’t have plans to cut his momentum short of bowl season. He’s already made a proud statement to join his teammates in the last game of the year.
#Badgers safety Hunter Wohler said he hasn’t reached a final decision on whether to return for another season or declare for the draft. Said there’s still some more discussions to be had. Did talk about how special Wisconsin is to him.

Declaring for the draft with so much interest from the NFL is usually an easy decision for college hotshots, but playing football for the Wisconsin Badgers has been a dream for Hunter Wohler. With heavy connections and strong emotional ties to the program, leaving the Badgers for greener pastures would not only affect him, it would also deal a heavy blow to the entire team.
Wohler leads his team in solo tackles with 73 and assisted tackles with 40 for a total of 113. The next highest on the list, LB Jake Chaney, has 73 total, so someone is going to have large shoes to fill should Wohler decide to graduate from the Badgers and join whichever NFL team picks him up.
Not only is Hunter a significant player on this team, he’s a crucial leader as well and uses his devotion to Badger football to inspire his teammates. If he can show the same passion in the pros, he can add the value of a solid presence on a team in addition to his headhunting skills.
