The Wisconsin Badgers are back in the win column after defeating the Michigan Wolverines 64-59 on Tuesday night at the Kohl Center in Madison. It was a win that the Badgers desperately needed as they are in the midst of a late-season collapse that has them on the March Madness bubble. Additionally, it was great for Wisconsin to beat Michigan in the first game between the two teams in Madison since Juwan Howard slapped Badgers assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft. Furthermore, one of Michigan’s best players, Hunter Dickinson, has been stoking the embers in the rivalry to the media for months.
Hunter Dickinson Said Michigan Would “Steal” a Win from the Wisconsin Badgers
Prior to the game, Dickinson was seen walking into the stadium wearing a ski mask. He explained that he did so because Michigan was going to “steal” a win from the Badgers.

Dickinson had 12 points and 12 rebounds as Michigan ended up losing to the Badgers. However, his attire and statement about it leaves questions about his maturity. One would have thought that after the mass shooting at Michigan State, Dickinson may have had a little more tact about his approach to the game. Really, anything other than comparing it to a violent crime would have been better.
Hunter Dickinson Called the Badgers Scumbags
Interestingly (or perhaps ironically), Dickinson was the one who called Badgers players scumbags. On a podcast appearance back in January, Dickinson was quoted as saying: ““Wisconsin, they’re just scumbags. Nothing I can say about Wisconsin is gonna fire up the matchup even more, so it already is what it is. The feeling could not be more mutual.”
Dickinson’s comments garnered him more than a few boo’s from the Badgers’ faithful.
Hunter Dickinson goated the Wisconsin students as he entered the locker room at halftime, egging on their boos. The junior has just three points on 0-for-3 shooting in the second half.
