Luke Fickell has a couple of choices at quarterback
The Wisconsin Badgers earned a bowl victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys Tuesday night. There was heavy speculation as to who would get the nod at starting quarterback for the contest. New head coach Luke Fickell wanted to use the bowl game as a chance to evaluate the quarterback position. The Badgers went with Chase Wolf as the starter against the Cowboys.
Wolf had a shaky start for Wisconsin. He made a terrible decision in the first quarter and threw an interception into double coverage in the endzone. He cost the Badgers an easy-scoring drive. However, Wolf returned and threw a touchdown pass in the second quarter to put the Badgers up 17-7 before halftime. Wolf finished 16/26 for 116 total yards passing in the bowl win.
Fickell talked about Wolf after the game. According to Raul Vazquez of Badger Blitz, Fickell said that Wolf should return next season and that he had “unfinished business” in Madison.
Luke Fickell said Chase Wolf got into grad school and he is “on schedule” to return next year. Said he has “unfinished business.”#Badgers

That’s high praise from Luke Fickell. Wolf will be in a quarterback battle this spring if he comes back. Wisconsin won Nick Evers in the transfer portal this December. Evers was a four-star quarterback who came from Oklahoma. Wolf played okay for making his first start against a good Cowboys defense. However, Badgers fans will want better quarterback play next season than the final numbers he put up Tuesday night.
