Luke Fickell honors Jim Leonhard after bowl win
The Wisconsin Badgers scored an important victory on Tuesday night in their bowl win. The Badgers’ 24-17 win over Oklahoma State improved their record to 7-6, giving them a winning season. The Badgers rallied around interim coach Jim Leonhard after Paul Chryst was fired when the team was 2-3. New head coach Luke Fickell honored the Madison legend during the post-game celebration.
Video footage provided by Jesse Temple of The Athletic shows Fickell calling up Leonhard to the trophy presentation. Leonhard raised the trophy and handed it to the players to pass around.

It was a special moment for Wisconsin. The Badgers have been through a lot this season. Fickell showed that he appreciates Wisconsin’s uniqueness and culture. Leonhard embodied what the Badgers culture is about. Fickell will now be tasked with fully taking over the program and getting them back in contention for the Big Ten title.
Leonhard doesn’t have to rush his next destination choice for coaching. He will be getting many offers from NFL teams and college teams in the coming weeks.
