Most fans of the Brewers are familiar with the names of the top outfield prospects in the organization. A few names include Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, Garrett Mitchell, Joey Wiemer, and Hedbert Perez. At 19 years old, Jace Avina is an outfield prospect who is quickly on the rise.
Avina was drafted in the 14th round of the 2021 MLB draft. He currently is not on the Brewers top 30 prospect list, but after a strong performance this summer in the ACL league he was promoted to Low-A Carolina. On Saturday night he made his debut and crushed a pair of home runs!
Well, one AB later, Avina has his second Low-A HR. 102 MPH this time around. https://t.co/9yTsRL4Hy3 pic.twitter.com/li9NUXm4gh

Prior to making his debut with the Mudcats, Avina was performing very well in the rookie league. Over 36 games he hit 10 home runs and collected 29 RBI. His slash line was .294/.436/.630/1.066. He did strike out 51 times, but when the ball was put in play he did damage.
Avina will be a fun prospect to track as he continues to play. The power numbers have been off the charts and that is evident by his pair of home runs in his Low-A debut.
