Luke Fickell stayed hot on the recruiting trail today. The Badgers landed 2024 QB Mabrey Mettauer. Mettauer hails from The Woodlands, TX. A four-star QB who stands at 6’5 and 215 pounds. Mettauer also held offers from schools such as Kansas State, North Carolina, Baylor, Florida, LSU, Houston, Louisville, and many others. Also in the mix was Cincinnati.
Social Media Goes Crazy Over Mettauer’s Commitment To Badgers:
After Wisconsin landed yet another big time commitment, social media went crazy. Here are some of the best reactions to the announcement:

The 24/7 Sports composite lists Mettauer as the No. 21 quarterback prospect in the 2024 class. During his junior season, he completed 66 percent of his passes for 2,621 yards and 32 touchdowns with six interceptions. He ran for 613 yards and nine more TDs. He brings a level of versatility that the Badgers haven’t had in a while. Here is a comment from Mettauer regarding his commitment:
“He said the offense that’s at North Carolina, I’m going to just bring it right over to Wisconsin,” Mettauer said. “I love his offense. I love what he does with it, how he has a good run-to-pass ratio. I love to pass the ball and get a few runs in during the game. I definitely love his offense that he’s bringing back over to Wisconsin.”
Although Mettauer is listed as a pro-style quarterback by some recruiting services, he is a dual-threat option with intriguing size. He stands 6-foot-5 ½ and 220 pounds — his dad, Mark, says he’ll be 230 pounds by the start of his senior season — with long blonde hair. Mettauer said he has been mistaken several times in recent years for Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence but says he models his game after Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, another 6-5 player. This new look Badgers recruiting game has Wisconsin fans ecstatic for what the future holds.
