Nearly halfway through the 2022 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers certainly have several “what ifs” at the wide receiver position. Randall Cobb was placed on IR, Christian Watson can’t seem to stay healthy, and we don’t know how long Sammy Watkins will stay healthy. Allen Lazard has been very consistent for this offense, but beyond that, it’s been hit or miss. The New York Jets all of a sudden have a wide receiver asking to be traded. Corey Davis and Garrett Wilson are both having nice seasons for the Jets. Denzel Mims seems to be getting an opportunity with this latest news. That leaves WR Elijah Moore on the outside looking in as he requested a trade.
Elijah Moore To The Green Bay Packers?
While the Jets certainly want to keep their 2021 second-round draft pick, Moore has been underutilized on the 4-2 football team. In Moore’s rookie season, the Ole Miss product scored five touchdowns. This season, he has just 203 receiving yards and no touchdowns. The Jets’ run game is the best part of their offense. Even so, his lack of targets is surprising.
For his NFL career, Moore has posted 59 receptions for 741 yards (12.6 yards per reception) and five touchdowns. He has played 819 snaps on offense to just five special teams snaps over his career. With that being said, he did post 27 punt returns and 12 kick returns at Ole Miss in his college days. Elijah Moore could be utilized in more ways than one on this Packers’ team. This is my proposed trade to land the second-year wide receiver:
Green Bay Packers receive:
- WR Elijah Moore
New York Jets receive:
- 2023 fourth-round pick
- 2023 conditional seventh-round pick

Uhh, yeah, not gonna happen. The Jets spent the 34th pick in the 2021 draft on Moore and you want to acquire him for a pick in the low 100s? Yeah, good luck with that.
Moore is under contract for another 2.5 years. The Jets don’t need to trade him at all. No way the Jets are just gonna give him away for a 4th round pick.
