Devon Witherspoon Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Witherspoon has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Good enough foot speed and length to stay with slot receivers in four-wide sets on short patterns
- Has the length and speed to emerge as a starter quickly
- Has been elite in man coverage, especially in 2022, showing a great understanding of routes and the ability to close quickly
- May still have the skills to excel as a zone defender because of his closing speed to wrap receivers after the catch
Weaknesses
- Needs to tighten his angles in pursuit. Needs to show better tackling technique to consistently finish
- Is undersized and underpowered when lining up in press coverage. Witherspoon lacks power in his punch

Would Devon Witherspoon Fit on the Packers?
Of all the cornerback prospects, Witherspoon is one of the best fits for the Packers. He has the skill set to be a starter right away. While he has things to work on (we all do) his skill set is one that is ready to translate to the pros immediately. The Packers are in a more win-now mode especially if Aaron Rodgers returns.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
Witherspoon would be able to slot right into an already-loaded secondary. However, I would be surprised if GM Brian Gutekunst spent a first-round pick on a cornerback when there are so many other needs. If Witherspoon could be used as a safety, that could change things as safety is a huge need for the Packers. Otherwise, I think Gutekunst will look to fill another roster need. Whoever does get Witherspoon will be very happy.
