The Packers worked out two players before their Week 10 game
Scoring more points is a must in the future for the Green Bay Packers. The Packers failed to score more than 10 points for the third time this season against the Detroit Lions. That’s not going to get many wins, and the Packers’ record stands at 3-6. The Packers looked to remedy their scoring deficit in Week 10 by working out two players that are a threat to put points on the board almost every time they touch the ball.
According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the Packers worked out two kickers, Tristan Vizcaino and Lucas Havrisik. Vizcaino made 85.7 percent of his field goals and 66.7 percent of his extra-point attempts during the 2021 season with the Chargers. He was waived by the Chargers after missing five of his 15 extra-point attempts.
Havrisik is a rookie out of the University of Arizona. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts in September. He earned All-Pac 12 Honorable mention honors for his 2020 and 2021 seasons at Arizona.
The choice to bring in two kickers is odd for the Packers. The Packers released wide receiver Kawaan Baker Tuesday. Current starting kicker, Mason Crosby, has not been mentioned in recent reports as injured. The Packers already have kicker Ramiz Ahmed on the practice squad. It’ll be interesting to see if one of these kickers can make the Packers’ practice squad.
