Matt LaFleur wasn’t happy with the passing game
Red zone woes for the Green Bay Packers offense cost the team a win in Detroit. The Lions picked off two Aaron Rodgers in the red zone as they held the Packers to nine points in Week 9. This is the third time the Packers have been held to 10 points or fewer in a game this season. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was not happy with how Aaron Rodgers threw the ball against the Lions.
LaFleur started off his press conference by highlighting where he thought the Packers went wrong against the Lions. He
“Just too many mistakes,” LaFleur said. “Turnovers. Obviously, not scoring the first two times in the red zone.”
LaFleur was asked by reporters in his press conference following the game why the Packers didn’t run the ball more in crucial red zone situations. Matt LaFleur defended the decision not to run the ball. He said the Lions were bringing a defensive package with six linemen, and when the Packers attempted to run against the front, they had little success. (The plays before Rodgers’ last two interceptions were one-yard runs by AJ Dillon.)
Matt LaFleur then made comments that appeared to be a shot at Aaron Rodgers.
“Credit to Detroit,” LaFleur said. I mean, they dared us to throw the football. Like I can’t tell you how many times, you know, you’re looking, and particularly, when we’re under center and everybody’s mugged up on the line of scrimmage. So, we’ve got to do something different, obviously, because we’re not throwing and catching to the level that is conducive to winning football.”
Matt Lafluer Comments Will be Tough for Aaron Rodgers to Hear
As Matt Lafluer talked, Aaron Rodgers made comments after the game that it was tough to lose to “that team,” meaning the lowly Lions.
Aaron Rodgers: "Can’t lose a game like that against that team.”

But Matt LaFleur seemed content to make Rodgers earn the win by throwing the football. Rodgers responded by throwing three interceptions, two of which came in the red zone. That’s the first time Rodgers has ever had a game with multiple interceptions in the red zone.
Aaron Rodgers has two red zone INTs for the first time in his career 😳

Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers will need to get on the same page for the rest of the season. LaFleur seemed unhappy with the decisions his quarterback made in the loss. Fox cameras showed LaFleur’s frustration after an early Rodgers interception.

But it appears LaFleur is coming to the sober realization that even weak NFL opponents no longer fear the back-to-back MVP. Matt LaFleur made clear comments that Aaron Rodgers is not throwing the ball at a level that can win games in the NFL. What LaFleur chooses to do with his next moves could certainly be interesting in Green Bay. The fifth straight Packers loss could be one that consequently causes a divide in this locker room.

Really?? I think the writer read between the lines on his quote. A loss to the division loser is always tough. I do not have confidence in the coaching or head office. Too many mistakes from both sides of the ball, primarily game calls. The offense and defense are in mis-step. I think LaFluer’s riding of a great team has coasted to a stop with reverse gear being applied. He is the head coach. The loss is on him.
No, Rodgers toxicity towards the Packers front office, especially Brian, lost the team Davante Adams. Rodgers, no longer has Davante Adams to make those “miracle” passes to. Without Davante Adams the other receivers are easy prey.
But yeah, it is the Packers management fault for screwing the team for the next 4 years because they kept Rodgers and they kept him with a huge price tag. Like I have been saying since 2018.. Rodgers will never see another SB unless as a spectator.
What Toxicity? He didn’t say anything. They tried to throw him under the bus with the fans and spread rumors but they wound up looking like the fools that they are and Aaron’s only response was to wear a t shirt. Brian “can’t draft talent if a gun was to his head” Gutekunst is an absolute clown. He has drafted offensive talent so poorly and too late that he should have been fired for it. You don’t get fresh young receivers to learn and develop AFTER your stud WR has left. The guy is an absolute disaster. Kept Preston but let Zadarius go. Couldn’t make a deadline trade to save his life despite his so called “best attempts”. Cutting players his MVP QB liked, but kept guys that couldn’t earn playing time for years only to cut them later on once he FINALLY drafted a WR above the 3rd round. Even when a replacement for Adams was a top priority he STILL didn’t draft a first round receiver (could have had Pickens). And yeah, most QBs would struggle when even the veteran that was brought in can’t run the right route. Rodgers played bad against the lions, but what’s the excuse for being a team that’s not at the top for passing attempt but is towards the top for dropped passes? Why is it that Tonyan and Lazard don’t have nearly a quarter as many passes that look “poorly thrown” vs. Watkins and the rookies? By no means is Rodgers perfect, he was awful against the Lions. But even an in-his-prime Rodgers can’t make guys run the right routes, fix the play calling, fix the defensive scheme, prevent injuries, or make the line block the pass rush.
Watching the Pack suck might be more enjoyable than Republicans crushing Democrats tomorrow
Awesome!
Yes indeed👍
Cry baby Rogers!!
MAGA!!!
LOL, THE COACH DIDNT THROW 2 INTERCEPTED BALLS, OR WAS IT 3. LOL GO PACK . HE CAN RETIRE NOW.
You have to remember LaFleur is the same guy who whined about the London game against the Giants that Jet Lag affected him and the team yet no such Crybaby comments were made by any of the coaches or players of the Giants.
LaFleur needs to Man Up or shut up.
It’s about time the coach calls the plays not the quarterback, Rodgers needs to Listen to the coaches and stop is crying, if he doesn’t sit his butt down and try Love for awhile at quarterback.
Time to put Lafleur out with the rubbish bin he cleary cannot adapt to anything. Just expects Rodgers to carry him and the team to greatness
Disillusioned Packer fans as usual. You’re headed back to the 70’s & 80’s Packers. But don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to catch up on new television programs. 😂
