Packers news: Different players have different ways of motivating themselves. For Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, this involves having to go through an extensive list of wide receivers that were selected ahead of him during the 2021 NFL Draft. There are a total of 16 wideouts that were picked ahead of the former USC standout, including former Green Bay Packers WR Amari Rodgers.
Packers News: Amon-Ra St. Brown Is Not One to Forget
In a recent interview, St. Brown revealed how he actually goes through the aforementioned list no less than three times a day. Apparently, this is the 23-year-old’s way of reminding himself of how he was slept on during the draft. For St. Brown, this is the motivation he needs every single day to continue to strive for his dreams:
“I have it written down in my notebook,” he said. “Everyday before I go to practice I have my goals written down. At the top, what I want to do this year. And then I got ‘Round 4, Pick 112, never forget.’ Then I got all the receivers one through 16 with their name and where they went to college and I read it every day three times.”
#Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown says he reads the names of all 16 WRs who were selected before him three times every day before heading out to practice.
He can name all 16 and where they went to college with ease.

St. Brown wasn’t kidding. In the interview, he went through the list out of memory, and he didn’t even flinch once.
Packers News: Amari Rodgers’ Short-Lived Green Bay Tenure
Selected significantly ahead of St. Brown in 2021 was Amari Rodgers, who happened to be the Packers’ only WR pickup from that draft. Green Bay actually traded for Rodgers during draft night. They sent their third-round and fourth-round picks to the Tennessee Titans in order to move up a few places in the third round.
The former Clemson star played a year and a half in Green Bay before the Packers decided to release him in November of last year. The Houston Texans quickly picked him up from the waiver wire, and this was where he would spend the remainder of the season.
Rodgers didn’t do enough to secure a new deal with the Texans, though, and he was waived by the squad at the end of the previous season. He now has a fresh start with the Indianapolis Colts after agreeing a new contract as a free agent this summer. The Colts will be Rodgers’ fourth team in his third season in the NFL.
