Before the start of Week 2’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts, former NFL head coach and ESPN personality Rex Ryan said that he was not giving the Packers a chance to win over the Colts simply because he did not have trust in quarterback Malik Willis.
“Well, unfortunately, I’ve seen this Malik Willis play in the NFL, and no way in hell am I taking him,” Ryan said. “ I’m gonna take the Colts.”

Rex Ryan clowned over his take on Green Bay Packers quarterback Malik Willis
Well, Ryan’s prediction blew up on his face, as Willis and the Packers found a way to take down the Colts at Lambeau Field. With Green Bay opting to go run-heavy, the Packers defeated the Colts, 16-10.
The internet also did not seem to like what Ryan said about Willis.
“Malik Willis passer rating: 126.8.Rex Ryan demonstrating why he’s sitting in a studio rather than standing on a field,” said a commenter.
“We’ve seen you coach in the NFL, and that’s why you’re unemployed 🤡,” another one commented.
“That’s why Rex is eating pizza in Bristol, Conn. instead of on the Buffalo charter after another loss,” chimed in another.
“This is why I don’t watch sports talk shows anymore. I just watch the game and make my own conclusion,” one X user said.
“Someone should drop off a large plate of crow for Rex to enjoy,” joked another.
From another user: “UNFORTUNATELY I’ve seen this Rex Ryan coach in the NFL and no way in hell am I taking him” – 32 NFL Franchises”
“I would say put your foot in your mouth Rex but I think he would like that,” opined another social media user.
As it turned out, Willis was good enough to help the Packers win. He went 12/14 for 122 passing yards and a touchdown while avoiding a turnover.
