With less than two weeks away from the 2022 NFL trade deadline, the Packers’ front office is on a hot seat. It’s no mystery that the Packers need offensive help between the O-line and the receiving group. As we are now a third through the regular season, it’s the perfect time for teams with losing records to sell high to teams that can compete this year.
Is Jerry Jeudy A Potential Trade Target For The Packers
It’s no secret that the Packers need help at wide receiver after Randall Cobb exited Week six with an ankle injury and is expected to be out 2-4 weeks. Sammy Watkins was recently designated to return from injured reserve and Christian Watson is still dealing with a hamstring injury. All of this leads up to the Packers needing extra talent in the passing game. If the Packers want to compete this year, a trade for a high-profile receiver prior to the trade deadline is the objective.
If you recall, Jerry Jeudy was previously connected to the Packers in the off-season when a rumored trade was floating around. Prior to the Denver Broncos trading for Russell Wilson, they were trying to obtain Aaron Rodgers in a trade. The trade had several moving parts but one of them was moving wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. Now that the Broncos seem lost on offense and the team is 2-4, they may want to move some assets to recoup what was given up for Wilson. The Packers can absorb the cap hit from Jeudy’s rookie contract and give the fans what they want, an explosive threat downfield. Wilson and Jeudy have not been on the same page this year, so Jeudy would be one of the first pieces to go.
