Carrington Valentine is a rookie cornerback for the Green Bay Packers.
However he isn’t just any rookie, he’s been impressive from the interception on Jordan love in camp to the dynamic performance versus the Cincinnati Bengals, and the rest of training camp as a whole.
He has quickly made a name for himself, despite never playing a regular season snap in his career.
With that said, it’s not guaranteed that he will have a starting role on this Packer squad. The one thing that is seeming more and more likely however, is that he at least should get some playing time as a substitution player.
As confusing as the cornerback position is looking for the Packers so far beyond the first two spots, we might have just gotten some answers today. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur took questions about this topic in a press conference Wednesday morning.
The Certain Uncertainty:
When a reporter asked him ” if he’s not in your top three, do you have to somehow find a way to just get him on the field “, he had only one thing to say.
” I think we definitely have to look at something because he’s done a lot up to this point “, he said. ” We need to see how he keeps progressing “, LaFleur explains.
It seems like there’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the cornerback position, but there’s one thing that is for certain. Carrrington Valentine is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Packer nation.
