NFL news: There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the New York Jets’ new QB-WR duo — and rightfully so. With training camp now in full swing, former Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers has been lighting it up in New York, with incoming second-year wideout Garrett Wilson being on the receiving end — literally — of the four-time MVP’s hype-worthy start with the Jets.

During Sunday’s practice, Wilson busted out one of the most impressive catches in the preseason thus far. It’s as if Rodgers and Wilson have been playing together for years now:

Now that was impressive. So much so, that even A-Rod’s former Packers teammate Davante Adams could not help but share his approval of New York’s newfound partnership. Adams has been on the receiving end of more than a few Aaron Rodgers rockets through the years, and he’s obviously an authority in this matter (h/t sportskeeda):
Even Davante Adams, who now plies his trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, believes that good things are coming from Rodgers and Wilson. As it is, the hype train is already in full throttle.

Rodgers himself sees a lot of promise in his new target. According to the Super Bowl-winning quarterback, he actually sees shades of Davante Adams in Garrett Wilson:
“Look, I love Davante. I saw him this summer. Davante is in a category by himself still, but that 17 [Wilson] reminds me of the other 17 [Adams] as far as his [Wilson’s] ability to get in and out of breaks and his quick twitch at the line of scrimmage, for sure,” Rodgers stated on a recent press conference, via Garrett Podell of CBS.
Obviously, Rodgers still holds Adams in very high regard. In this light, for the Jets QB to compare his former superstar teammate to Wilson speaks volumes of how much untapped potential the young Jets wide receiver has. Rodgers is obviously hoping that he’s the right man who’s going to bring the best out of his new wide receiver.
