Aaron Rodgers is now a simp. Rodgers is finally set to sign a new deal to stay with the New York Jets for the next two seasons. Fans reacted to the agreement on social media after the news broke Wednesday afternoon.
Rodgers was set to have $110 million guaranteed over the next two seasons. He now only has $75 million guaranteed, or about $37.5 million a year. Rodgers will be the third highest-paid quarterback (the least for a starting quarterback) in the state of New York behind Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills and Daniel Jones with the New York Giants.
Rodgers’ pay cut has to hurt Green Bay Packers fans this offseason. Rodgers’ contract kept the Packers from being able to keep necessary stars in the past. And the Packers’ lack of cap space this offseason is why they’re rebuilding this year.
