The Milwaukee Bucks will focus their shift on the 2024 offseason. There will be many ways for them to improve the roster for next season and for years to come. The 2024 NBA Draft class feels like it is weak, but you never know what could happen.
The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor updated his 2024 NBA Mock Draft. He has the Milwaukee Bucks selecting 25th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft and has them taking forward Collin Murray-Boyles from South Carolina. He was a freshman a season ago for the Gamecocks.

Murray-Boyles is 6’7″ and weighs 231 lbs. He is only 19 years old. The reason why he has the Milwaukee Bucks taking him with this selection is as follows:
“Murray-Boyles is likely returning to school for his sophomore season, but he remains in the mock for now because of his stellar defensive upside. You couldn’t ask for a better fit than a contender like the Bucks. Murray-Boyles brings a versatility that’d be the perfect fit for Milwaukee’s defensive scheme, and there’d be no pressure for him to shine on offense in the early stages of his career.”
He played in 28 games a season ago with the South Carolina Gamecocks. As a freshman, he averaged 10.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.0 BPG, and 1.0 SPG. He shot 59.7% from the field and is not much of a three-point shooting threat at all. Collin Murray-Boyles could be a defensive pest at the next level.
In a year where the South Carolina Gamecocks were projected to finish in last place in the SEC, they finished in third place in the conference because of head coach Lamont Paris. Murray-Boyles was one of the reasons why South Carolina had a 26-8 overall record and a 13-5 conference record. The Gamecocks were a sixth seed in the NCAA Tournament and lost to the 11 Oregon Ducks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Milwaukee Bucks Do Need To Get Younger and the Selection of Collin Murray-Boyles Would Help But They Need To Find Offense Around Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo

Milwaukee does need to improve on defense and the selection of Murray-Boyles would be good for that reason. However, it would be better if they were to draft someone with more offensive upside to help around Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, because the Bucks are dedicated to doing that.

The Milwaukee Bucks need to find young talent that can help them out and the league is getting younger with talent. Milwaukee needs to make improvements to its old roster by trading a couple of hefty contracts away. A couple of other players that could be available for the Bucks with this pick that would fit the team better are Kyle Filipowski, a forward from Duke, and Mark Sears, a guard from Alabama who can score the basketball.
