The Green Bay Packers’ offense is not getting the offseason praise of other NFL teams. Of course, this is because Jordan Love is starting at quarterback instead of Aaron Rodgers. Additionally, no wide receiver on their roster has played a full NFL season yet.
Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson each missed time last season due to injuries. Samori Toure was not active for all games, and, when he was, only received 10 targets.

All of this being said, there is a certain level of optimism in the building regarding the young offense. Media members were able to attend selected practices during the Packers’ offseason activities, and one particular second-year wide receiver stood out.
Romeo Doubs Is the Green Bay Packers Player Who Stood Out the Most
In a recent article that identified the standout player on each of the NFL’s 32 teams during offseason activities, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky wrote:
“While Christian Watson got most of the attention for his big plays late last season, Doubs has seemingly become quarterback Jordan Love’s go-to guy — at least in the offseason practices. Whether it’s in scripted team periods or move-the-ball drills like the two-minute simulation, Doubs has been targeted time and again.
“Don’t forget, it was Doubs who starred last preseason when Love got all the No. 1 reps in the games because Aaron Rodgers didn’t play. And Doubs was off to a strong start last year as a rookie until a midseason ankle injury changed his trajectory.”
It has been reported for a while now that Doubs and Love seem to have a pretty special connection so far. It is yet to be seen if it will translate to the regular season, but there is little reason to think that it won’t.
Last season, Doubs had 42 receptions for 425 yards and three touchdowns. He played in 13 games, starting seven of them. He did struggle with drops, though, letting nine passes fall to the ground after he got a hand on them.
Even still, Rodgers and Love had a combined quarterback rating of 95.7 when targeting Doubs. If this connection he has with Love is the real deal, and if he can eliminate dropped passes, he could lead the team in receiving yards.
