NFL News: The Green Bay Packers have already been the center of massive trades over the last two off-seasons. Last year the Packers shipped Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for multiple premium draft picks. This off-season was highlighted by the franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade that sent him to the New York Jets.
This off-season also saw the Packers become one of the youngest teams in the NFL by moving on from many long-tenured veterans. One position group that is certainly on the younger side is the wide receivers. Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure, and Jayden Reed figure to be the top four wide receivers on the Packers roster going into the 2023 NFL season. The average age of those four wide receivers? 23. While they are loaded with young talent, a veteran could do wonders for the young group.
Green Bay Packers Land Pro Bowl Wide Receiver Hunter Renfrow In Trade Proposal (NFL News)

Vic Tafur, a longtime Raiders beat writer for The Athletic, recently projected the Las Vegas Raiders to deal Hunter Renfrow before the team finalizes its 53-man roster. The projection has Cam Sims occupying the sixth receiver spot, filling the void that would be left if Renfrow were traded
This could open the door for a team like the Green Bay Packers to swoop in and land a proven veteran for relatively cheap. The Packers currently have more than $16 million in cap space. The ability to add a veteran wide receiver (financially) is certainly there.
What Would A Las Vegas Raiders – Green Bay Packers Trade For Hunter Renfrow Look Like?

Renfrow signed a two-year, $32 million contract extension in June 2022. This keeps him under contract through the 2024 season, and he is due to earn $6.5 million this year. Hunter Renfrow was a fifth-round pick by the Raiders in 2019. In 2021, he became the first Raiders receiver to record over 1,000 receiving yards in a season since 2016 and just the third player in franchise history to record 100-plus receptions in a single season. He also became just the second wide receiver in Raiders history to record both 100-plus receptions and 1,000-plus receiving yards in a single season.
However, in 2022 Renfrow was limited to 10 games due to injuries. He finished with 36 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns. This could be the ultimate “buy low” scenario for the Green Bay Packers due to the veteran coming off a sub-par season. Our proposed trade would look like this:
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- Wide Receiver Hunter Renfrow
Las Vegas Raiders Receive:
- 2024 Fourth-Round Draft Pick
- 2024 Seventh-Round Draft Pick
Renfrow has proven himself as one of the better route runners in the entire NFL. Davante Adams has even commented on how impressive his route running ability is. This could be one of the easiest moves for the Green Bay Packers to bring in a veteran without giving up too much cap space or draft capital.
