The Green Bay Packers were keeping the door open for safety and former team captain Adrian Amos to return to the team this offseason. The door shut Tuesday.
The New York Jets signed Amos
The New York Jets signed Amos to a one-year deal with $4 million. The Jets, who had been signing several former Packers offensive players due to the Aaron Rodgers trade, added another teammate to the other side of the ball.
The writing seemed to be on the wall for Amos after the Packers signed Jonathan Owens in free agency. However, there was hope in the fanbase that the front office could work out a deal to bring Amos back for another year.
The Packers released a statement after Amos was signed to the Jets Thursday. The team thanked him for playing in Green Bay.
