Recently, Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones shared a few photos on Instagram depicting himself, Jordan Love, and several other teammates working out together in California. Packers rookies do not need to report to Green Bay until July 25, and veterans are not due back for training camp until July 28. However, the players all wanted to make sure they did not miss a beat.

Aaron Jones Revealed Whose Idea It was to Have Green Bay Packers Players Practice in California
Other Packers players present in California were Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Jeff Cotton, Danny Etling, and Christian Watson. In a recent interview with CBS Sports, Jones revealed who got them all together:
“Jordan [Love] is a true leader. He wanted to get that work in, and he wants everyone around him to get better as well. So, we made it a thing after I went out there where we talked about getting some of the guys out there by sending a text. Whoever can make it can make it. If people can’t, that’s ok.
“The message was ‘let’s get together before we all go back. Let’s get some reps in, so when we get back there’s no hiccups. We’re right there, we’re ready to go. We’re all on the same page. It was Jordan and me’s idea, but Jordan initiated the text message.”
There have been no shortage of Packers players that have been fairly vocal about how great of a leader Love has been all offseason. Kenny Clark, Elgton Jenkins, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jones, AJ Dillon, and Jaire Alexander have all said something this season in regards to how good and/or how great of a leader Love is.
It is interesting to note, too, that Love invited everybody, rookies included. Reed was a second round pick this year and Wicks was drafted in the fifth round. Last year, rookies Watson, Doubs, and Samori Toure did not get to work with Aaron Rodgers until he showed up to training camp.
At this point, the rookies and other pass catchers have been getting reps in with Love for months. Do not be surprised if the offense looks a great deal cleaner and put together in 2023 than it did last season. Love is making sure everyone is clicking.
