Green Bay Packers fans reacted to major wide receiver news on social media Sunday. Many players are already getting cut to make room for new players during training camp. Former Packers draft pick Amari Rodgers was released from the Houston Texans Sunday after spending less than a year with the team.
The Packers released Rodgers in the middle of last season after he struggled not to muff or fumble during returns on special teams. Rodgers’ release was a little different from the Texans. Rodgers and the Texans mutually decided to part ways as Rodgers wants to sign with a team that can offer him more playing time.
It appears like one week of training camp was enough for the Texans and Rodgers to come to the conclusion he wasn’t going to beat out their young group of pass catchers.
