NFL: Week one is quickly approaching for the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. Jordan Love and the Packers will travel to Soldier Field to take on Justin Fields and the Bears on September 10th. That game marks the start of a new era for both teams. The Packers are trying to figure out if they have their third franchise quarterback in a row. The Bears feel like this is the year that Fields can prove he is that franchise quarterback for the Bears. That being said, the Bears will be facing one major disadvantage going into week one.
Teven Jenkins, The Chicago Bears’ Best Offensive Lineman Will Be Out Week One Against The Green Bay Packers (NFL)
Jordan Sigler of Wisconsin Sports Heroics recently broke the news for our site:
According to Brad Biggs with the Chicago Tribune, starting offensive guard Teven Jenkins sustained a leg injury. He’s expected to miss up to six weeks:
“Multiple sources told the Tribune that left guard Teven Jenkins could miss time in the first month with a leg injury.
The Bears have been particularly guarded with injury information and did not reveal why Jenkins briefly missed time earlier in training camp. He did not play in Saturday’s 24-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, but coach Matt Eberflus elected to rest nearly all of his first-team players.
Injuries have marred Jenkins’ first two seasons and it’s possible the latest issue could keep him out six weeks.”
Teven Jenkins is the Chicago Bears’ best offensive lineman
Jenkins, arguably the Bears’ best offensive lineman last season, has struggled to stay healthy during his first two seasons in the NFL. The Bears were hoping he could turn the corner in year three and help the offensive line show much-needed improvement from the previous two seasons.
However, that offensive line might look good until October. The Packers will be able to take advantage of a weaker Bears offensive line in Week 1. The Packers’ defensive line and pass rush should be rocking for the matchup, as Rashan Gary is expected to make his return to the field against Chicago.
Green Bay Packers Fans React To The Bears’ Week One Loss
Any Packers-Bears matchup means a lot to the fans. Whether each team is fighting for a playoff spot or they are fighting for the top draft pick, it is a must win for each fan base. When Packers fans saw that the Bears would have this major disadvantage, they reacted on social media:
