It may have taken him a couple of months, but Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has now responded to JJ Redick’s harsh criticism. According to Redick, Rivers has refused to take accountability for his shortcomings as Milwaukee’s coach — a characteristic that the former believes the one-time NBA champion coach has exhibited throughout Rivers’ career.
Coach Doc has definitely taken note of Redick’s tirade, and he’s now come out with sa savage response for his former player.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Doc Rivers Claps Back at JJ Redick
In a recent interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Rivers got an opportunity to finally respond to Redick’s hot take. It seems that Rivers has been preparing for this moment for quite a while, and he’s now unloaded on JJ:
“JJ Redick best numbers of his career was under one coach and your looking at him,” Rivers said. “I’m the one who grabbed him out of Milwaukee and decided to start him. From that point on, his career took off.”

Rivers did say that he has nothing but love for Redick. However, it did not stop him from dropping a vicious truth bomb on JJ’s NBA career.
Doc Rivers Clowned on Twitter
This is a pretty strong take from Rivers, which unsurprisingly, has garnered all sorts of reactions from the mean streets of Twitter. While some fans believe that Coach Doc does have a point here, the general consensus is that he’s proving Redick right by grabbing the credit yet again:
False, JJ best numbers came in Philly when Brett Brown was the coach. And even if that were the case. That says more about you as a coach given that you could pull more outta JJ even with the stars around him. Great try though @DocRivers 👍🏿

So we just gonna ignore those years he played with the sixers from 2017-2019 ???

Doc rivers always wants the credit, but never takes accountability for anything. It’s always everyone’s fault except his.

Doc Rivers took over a #1 seed and made the team worse

Doc cooked here but he’s still one of the most overrated coaches of all time😂

If you thought this semi-beef between coach and his former player was over, then it appears that you may be mistaken.
