This afternoon, breaking news came out of ESPN and MLB and announced the MLB owners took a vote today and unanimously approved to keep Rob Manfred in office until January 2029. This comes after the whole MLB lockout that took place prior to the 2022 season which the MLB was not able to come to an agreement between the Players Association and the League. The vote was really clear that all 30 MLB owners voted in favor of the action to keep Rob Manfred in office, his current term would have expired in January 2024. Rob Manfred is set to stay in office until he turns 70 years old he has been in office since January 2015, when you took over for Bud Selig who was the former Milwaukee Brewers owner before. Manfred instituted an MLB Pitch Clock at the beginning of the 2023 season and was not supported as much by fans with the runner-on-second rule in the extra innings.
