New York Jets fans found out one of the cons of trading for a 38-year-old quarterback pretty early: injuries. Reports came out early Tuesday that Aaron Rodgers sustained an ankle injury during OTAs. Jets fans reacted on social media after the news broke.
Aaron Rodgers tried doing the right thing with the New York Jets
Rodgers appears to be locked in with the Jets, as he participates in the voluntary part of OTAs this month. He didn’t do that toward the end of his run with the Green Bay Packers. However, his aging body must keep up with the early strenuous activity.
Rodgers’ body hasn’t been immune to injury in recent seasons. He played with a broken thumb for most of the 2022 campaign. The Jets took a risk that Rodgers’ incredible arm can last for another season or two. But the rest of his body will have to try and keep up.
A video from Dianna Russini with ESPN showed Rodgers with his helmet off and unable to continue getting reps Tuesday.
