New York Jets fans have been left shellshocked by the way their season opener against the Buffalo Bills started. After just three snaps into the game, new superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers was forced to leave the game with an apparent injury. To make matters worse, the four-time NFL MVP had to be carted off the field because of this mysterious and very concerning injury.
Aaron Rodgers Leaves the Game on New York Jets’ First Drive

While guys like Jimmy Garoppolo and even Jordan Love had strong debuts in their new respective spots in Week 1, it’s the exact opposite for Aaron Rodgers. Things could not have gone any worse for the 10-time Pro Bowl QB as New York fans had to watch their new superstar leave the field so early in the game with what could be a serious injury:

Rodgers appears to have sustained the injury after getting sacked by Giants LB Leonard Floyd in the previous play. The Jets QB was able to get up to his feet after the sequence, but it wasn’t long before he went back down in pain. The medical team had to rush to attend to the 39-year-old, who eventually had to leave the field in a medical cart.
True enough, it wasn’t long before New York officially ruled Rodgers out for the rest of the game:

Peyton Manning Reacts to Aaron Rodges’ Injury

Peyton Manning and his brother Eli were doing the MNF coverage for ESPN with their Manningcast program, and for his part, Peyton was left in utter disbelief after watching this unfortunate incident unfold right before his eyes:
“Holy Cow! I cannot believe this,” Manning said. “… I thought it was just an ankle injury. I thought we’d go tape it up and get him back in there, come on. Dang.”

Manning was actually explaining something when he saw Rodgers getting placed on the medical cart. It was at this point that the Hall of Fame quarterback had his “Holy Cow” moment when he realized that this was not a minor injury for Aaron Rodgers.
Based on Manning’s reaction alone, Jets fans have to be holding their breath for what could possibly be a devastating injury on their star QB.
