NBA: The Milwaukee Bucks are in the midst of an eventful off-season. The first wave of NBA free agency has come and gone. It was an action-packed first few days that saw the Milwaukee Bucks lock up Khris Middleton to a three-year extension and Brook Lopez to a two-year extension. They also brought back Jae Crowder, and signed Malik Beasley and Robin Lopez. All figure to have a significant impact on the outlook for the upcoming season. However, could there be one more move on the way?
The Milwaukee Bucks Land Markelle Fultz In Massive Three Team Trade (NBA)
Max Griffith of Fansided highlighted a scenario that had the Bucks landing Markelle Fultz:
Milwaukee Bucks Receive:
- Markelle Fultz
Orlando Magic Receive:
- Grayson Allen
- Pat Connaughton
- 2029 First-Round Draft Pick
The Orlando Magic decided to add yet another piece to their backcourt and took Anthony Black with the sixth pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. They obviously see him as a future piece, as well as Jalen Suggs, who was a top-five pick just two years before.
Cole Anthony is another guy they value at that position. Markelle Fultz
It would be hard to part ways with Fultz if you are just adding two more shooters to the depth chart, so the 2029 1st-round pick would be the enticing piece for the Magic in this particular deal. Milwaukee would just have to hope the pick is enough for them. This would be a no-brainer for Milwaukee, and they should definitely give Orlando a call considering their situation with their backcourt.
The former top overall pick seems to be finally finding his footing in the league. Fultz put up 14 points, 3.9 boards, and 5.7 assists for the Magic last season. He also added 1.5 steals per contest and a lot of grit on the defensive end. Fultz still needs to get a more reliable jumper, but it has gotten better. Other than shooting, he has really started to excel. Once again, this may not be the most enticing deal for Orlando, but getting a future first and clearing out room at the point guard are both positives.
has been very serviceable for Orlando at the one, but their best option may be clearing out room in the backcourt, especially the point guard position.
What Would This Trade Do For The Milwaukee Bucks? (NBA)
Depth, depth, and more depth. With Jevon Carter signing with the Chicago Bulls this off-season, the Bucks will be looking to add to the guard position at some point. Whether that is via trade or free agency remains to be seen. Jrue Holiday is one of the premier point guards in the league, and certainly one of the best on ball defensive guards in the league.
However, Carter’s minutes off the bench proved to be invaluable at times over the last few seasons. Fultz would provide the type of depth they are currently lacking, and could even be an upgrade from Carter.

Not a good move to get rid of Grayson Allen and Connaught on…. Smh… Why mess with chemistry!
I agree. He’s not that great and the Bucks would be destroying the depth at wing for a back up PG.
Beasley–who is a better defender than his rep–and Marjon and some of the new wing depth, however, could make one of the two expendable. I’d be trying to trade Grayson (expiring) and Bobby to the Pels, who are looking to deal, for Valunciunas and Lewis. We deal from positions of depth (wing and forward) and shore up the weak spots on our roster at C and PG. We’d no doubt get the Bird rights to Jonas and maybe sign him long term to ultimately replace Brook.
