MLB Trade Rumors: The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in adding a right-handed bat prior to the August 1 trade deadline. One player that they reportedly are scouting is a former 2021 World Series champ that has spent a better part of this year on the injured list with a wrist fracture. That player is currently with the Boston Red Sox and is Adam Duvall.
Adam Duvall of the Boston Red Sox is being scouted by the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB Trade Rumors).
According to a report from Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe the Phillies had scouts taking a look at Adam Duvall. As mentioned above he fractured his wrist in early April. This kept him sidelined for two months and he returned to the Red Sox in mid June.
Through 43 games this year the 34 year old is hitting .260/.325/.527 with eight home runs and 28 runs batted in. His strikeout rate is a bit high at 31.4%, but he counters that by being productive when making contact and he currently possesses a 123 OPS+.
Boston does not have to trade Adam Duvall, but he is an impending free agent. His 2023 salary is for $7.00 MM, so any acquiring team would not be reliable for a substantial amount of money. He is a 2021 World Series champion from his tenure with the Atlanta Braves and his post season experience could be very valuable to any team.
