MLB Trade Rumors: There is one week to go before the August 1 trade deadline and rumors are starting to heat up. Jon Morosi recently revealed four teams that his sources say have interest in targeting middle infielders. He also provided three targets that each team could consider.

Per sources the Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, and San Francisco Giants have interest in trading for a middle infielder (MLB Trade Rumors).

To dive deeper into Jon Morosi’s comment you first have to look at the four teams mentioned. The Blue Jays, Mariners, and Brewers are set at shortstop. This means that despite none of the above mentioned names being listed as a second baseman that could be the intended position that they want to upgrade at.
Secondly Morosi does not confirm that any of the above mentioned names in Tim Anderson, Paul Dejong, and Vidal Brujan have been linked to the Brewers, Blue Jays, Mariners, or Giants. Rather he states ‘available names include’.
All of this means that the four mentioned teams are interested in trading for middle infielders, but not necessarily any of the players mentioned by Jon Morosi.
