MLB News: A surprising name among the National League starters for the 2023 All-Star game is shortstop Orlando Arcia.  Arcia is currently a member of the Atlanta Braves and previously spent time with Milwaukee Brewers.  His breakout campaign this year has resulted in not only his first All-Star game selection, but a starting nod as well.

During phase one of voting Arcia dominated the votes as he had much higher voting totals than Francisco Lindor, Xander Bogaerts, Trea Turner, Dansby Swanson, and Matt McClain.  Phase two was just as kind to him and he was rewarded with being an All-Star game starter.

Fans across the league had all sorts of reactions to this news.

    Fan voting is a joke

Bias comparison. Arcia has 100 at bat less. And leads Lindor in Ave, OPS and WAR. Not even the NY Mets voted for Lindor

Went from watching him as a @BiloxiShuckers in AA to now an all star. Such a cool thing to see and the progression he’s made

    — Swann (@RyanSwann7) June 30, 2023

Let’s not get it confused, he’s not good, he’s just having a good season. This guy was a nobody before this year, been in the league since 2016, has a career .248 BA and 78 OPS+. And still only good thing about his season is his BA. Undeserved is an understatement.
