The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are set to square off today in a big divisional matchup.  Each team is trying to right their season and keep pace with the division leading Detroit Lions.

The Packers (2-4) are coming off a rough loss to the Broncos while the Vikings (3-4) are coming off a big win against the 49ers.  If the Vikings are going to come into Lambeau Field and get the win, they are going to have to do so without one of their most explosive playmakers.

“Kene Nwangwu (illness) has been downgraded to OUT for Minnesota vs. Green Bay,” the Vikings’ main social media account tweeted.

Nwangwu is rarely used as a running back, so his absence won’t have a detrimental effect on the team’s offensive strategy. However, he has scored three touchdowns as a kick returner in his first two seasons as a pro. As a result, running back Ty Chandler will likely receive kickoffs.

Nwangwu will miss his seventh game of 2023, having missed the first six games on injured reserve before returning last week against the San Francisco 49ers.Nwangwu returned two kicks for 41 yards against the 49ers in his first regular season appearance.
