For the longest time, Damian Lillard has become synonymous with the Portland Trail Blazers. Now that he’s back playing against them as part of the Milwaukee Bucks, his former team went the extra mile to make their former franchise player loved.
But while Lillard certainly felt the love from Portland fans, the actual game didn’t go as well for the Bucks. Even with 52 points from the duo of Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, their team still lost to the Trail Blazers.
Leading the way for Portland is Anfernee Simons, Lillard’s protege during his time with the Trail Blazers, who dropped 24 points in 38 minutes. Deandre Ayton also had a big night by adding 20 points and 11 rebounds.
This is the second consecutive loss suffered by the Bucks after Doc Rivers started coaching the team. It also follows a game Milwaukee lost to the Denver Nuggets, making the team winless on their road trip out west.

Without a doubt, Lillard still has a lot of love for Portland, and the city does so, too, for the Milwaukee Bucks star. And even if the All-Star point guard lost in his return, he will always have a place to call home there.
