It’s still very early in the season but already, Milwaukee Bucks second-year forward MarJon Beauchamp has already had an opportunity to face off against some of the best offensive players in the league.
Beauchamp gets another tough one on Wednesday night when the Bucks take on Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons — a matchup that the 23-year-old is very much looking forward to.
Milwaukee Bucks Stud MarJon Beauchamp Relishing the Challenge
Beauchamp is no star, and he also won’t drop 30 points on any given night. However, one of his strengths is his defense on the wing for the second unit. A testament to this fact is how the former Yakima Valley Community College standout has been tasked to guard the opposition’s best players on any given night.
For his part, Beauchamp says that he’s just trying to do whatever he can to help his team:
“Well with me, I just try to bring my energy,” he said. “Really, whatever coach says, I try to make the fullest out of it. Whatever I see, I try to anticipate the next thing.”
The Bucks have already matched up against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks early on, and it was a great learning experience for Beauchamp:
“It’s good for me to guard like Tyrese Maxey (or) Trae Young this early (in the season),” Beauchamp said. “I got into foul trouble with Trae Young. Next time I play him, I feel like I need to adjust a couple of things.”
“… I’mma have Cade Cunningham tonight. I feel like I gotta use my Iength on him, try to beat him to the spot.
“It’s great, man. I love the competition. I love the matchups of the best players on the other teams. I think it’s only making me better.”

Cade Cunningham has been on quite a run to start the season for the Pistons, averaging a career-high 22.9 points on 2.3 triples per game. It goes without saying that Beauchamp — and the rest of the Bucks, for that matter — will have their hands full on Wednesday night.
