The Milwaukee Bucks made a statement on Sunday night with their 143-142 overtime win against the Sacramento Kings. Damian Lillard, in particular, made sure to leave his mark with an epic 32-foot game-winner to break the hearts of Sacramento fans everywhere.
It was truly a memorable moment for the Bucks, who are now hopoing that this becomes a turning point amid their slow start to 2024.
Malik Beasley Send Warning to NBA About Milwaukee Bucks
Beasley witnessed Lillard’s heroic act on Sunday night first hand. In fact, by his own admission, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard revealed that he was actually prepared to take the final shot of the game before Dame Time took over. In the end, Beasley was more than happy to defer to Lillard when it mattered most.
It was the absolute right decision.
An excited Malik Beasley spoke to reporters after their big win over the Kings, and he took it as an opportunity to fire a warning shot to the rest of the league amid Milwaukee’s recent surge:
“With the guys we have on the court, we have a chance anytime,” Beasley said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “(Connaughton) hit a big three, Brook hit a big three, and that’s not even with Khris (Middleton) playing tonight. Then we got Dame and Giannis. I think we feel confident no matter how much we’re down or what the time limit is on the clock. So, I think we just kept composed and kept playing.”
Based on what we’ve seen from the Bucks this season, you can’t really say that Beasley isn’t making sense here. Milwaukee has had a few come-from-behind victories this year, which is a clear testament to their resilience.
Sunday’s win was a massive confidence booster for the Bucks, who as Beasley implied, is ready to take on whatever the league throws at them at this point.
