Former Milwaukee Bucks Rookie of the Year Expected To Be Traded Before 2024 Deadline

There was a time when the Milwaukee Bucks had a core of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Malcolm Brogdon. Now, Damian Lillard holds the distinction of being the team’s primary guard in its quest to win a ring this year.

But before Lillard’s stint in Milwaukee began, Brogdon was a well-known name who started out his career with the Bucks. Selected by the franchise using the 36th pick in the 2016 Draft, the 6’4″ guard would go on to have a productive rookie season that year.

His efforts would not go to waste as Brogdon was named Rookie of the Year for the 2016-17 season. From there, he would go on to play for two more seasons and become one of the team’s key players. All in all, he posted averages of 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game during his time in Milwaukee.

However, the Bucks moved on from Brogdon by trading him to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for three picks in the draft. And although his numbers and minutes increased from there, the former Rookie of the Year would remain with a team that wasn’t good enough to compete, nor bad enough to get high picks in a draft.

From Indiana, Brogdon found his way to the Boston Celtics, then the Portland Trail Blazers this season. The thing is, it looks like the former Bucks star is on the move again.

In an article written by Brian Windhorst for ESPN:

“A valuable scoring guard who can start or come off the bench, Brogdon is one of the most talented players on the trade market. He has one year at $22.5 million left on his deal so the Blazers — amid a youth movement — could wait until summer if they don’t have an enticing offer,” Windhorst shared.

Brogdon is definitely a good pickup for any team wanting to improve at the deadline. Of course, this is made possible by the guard’s time in Milwaukee and how he honed his skills playing for the team that drafted him and alongside one of the best players in the world – Giannis Antetokounmpo. It’s best to keep a close watch on Brogdon to see where he lands soon.
