The trade deadline is fast approaching, and the Milwaukee Bucks haven’t made a move yet. And while other teams in the Eastern Conference did so, there’s an argument to be made about cashing in on Khris Middleton to upgrade the roster.
Before 2023 ended, the New York Knicks made a big swing by trading RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley for OG Anunoby. In the process, the Knicks’ lineup got better both offensively and defensively.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat traded Kyle Lowry to the Charlotte Hornets for Terry Rozier. This move gave them another shot creator to remain competent on offense, especially in endgame scenarios.
The Indiana Pacers joined in on the fun by acquiring Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors to join Tyrese Haliburton. With that trade, the Pacers are now going all-out in their quest to capitalize on Haliburton’s All-Star leap.
All of the moves mentioned above have made these teams more competitive against the top teams in the Eastern Conference, such as the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Milwaukee Bucks. How those top squads are going to act as the deadline approaches remains to be seen.
Ric Bucher’s Intriguing Andrew Wiggins-Khris Middleton Proposal for the Milwaukee Bucks
A move the Bucks should consider is one that involves Khris Middleton and the Golden State Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins.
According to NBA analyst Ric Bucher:
“Bucks have to get more athletic; I’d be on the phone with Golden State to see if they’d flip Andrew Wiggins for Khris Middleton,” Bucher said.
While Middleton is a beloved figure in Milwaukee, there’s an argument to be made for Wiggins to work with the duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. The latter is also an NBA champion, can defend different positions, and create a shot for himself when needed. The key difference here is Wiggins’ athleticism, which can be a boon for the Bucks.
Of course, Wiggins’ performance this season has been subpar than the Warriors’ previous campaigns. In the event this trade is made, a change of teams might be the solution for both stars.

Middleton is not going to get traded and he shouldn’t be traded. Wiggins is not close in terms of what Middleton gives the Bucks. Why would they upset things anymore than they already are from a chemistry standpoint?! Giannis wouldn’t stand for it either. Wiggins is a downgrade. By the way, you mentioned Wiggins has a chip… So does Khris! Along with a lot of other playoff experience! The drop-off from Khris this year is multi-factorial. Coming off injury, getting used to playing with Dame$ and Griffin. He has had minute restrictions for the first 25 or so games and still not playing back to backs. He is and always has been underrated and is another clutch option for them. You can’t upset things anymore with everything they have already had to deal with. The core players need to stay together. I would make Beasley, Beauchamp, Ajax, and Robin Lopez available along with Portlands second rounder. Portis is too valuable you would never get equal value back anyways.
Midds is here to stay. Anyone that says he should be traded isn’t a bucks fan. No where are you going to get a 50,40,90 guy that can get 20. He was on a minute restriction for most of the season, and has been playing extremely well the last month or so. You want to give up consistency to get an inconsistent guy that’ll put up less…
