Khris Middleton was supposed to be back for the Milwaukee Bucks after the All-Star break. However, the three-time All-Star has missed both of his team’s games since the mid-season break as he continues to deal with a lingering ankle injury.
The Bucks are in action on Tuesday night against the Charlotte Hornets, and it has now been confirmed that Middleton will be forced to sit out his eighth straight game.
Milwaukee Bucks Rule Khris Middleton OUT Vs. Hornets
The Bucks have already submitted their injury report for Tuesday’s contest, and unfortunately, Middleton has already been ruled out with a left ankle sprain.
You have to note that the report was filed more than 24 hours before tip-off, which only means that the 32-year-old had absolutely no chance of playing in this one. This could speak volumes of how close Middleton is to returning, which at this point, doesn’t seem to be very optimistic.
For what it’s worth, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers provided a timely update on Middleton before Sunday’s big win over the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Rivers, the 6-foot-7 small forward is nearing his return to action:
“He’s getting closer,” Coach Doc said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “I don’t know if I’m going to say close enough that we could think next game, but he’s getting a lot closer. He’s feeling a lot better.”
Well, based on this recent development, it is clear that Middleton isn’t that close just yet.
