Bobby Portis had another noteworthy performance on Wednesday night as he helped the Milwaukee Bucks overcome the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. The veteran finished with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, to go along with two triples, six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in 31 minutes off the bench.
It was a typical outing for Portis who once again proved how important he is for the Bucks rotation.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Lauds Bobby Portis’ Strong Play
During Milwaukee’s recent seven-game winning streak, Portis averaged 18.6 points on 60.9 percent shooting and 8.0 rebounds, while also knocking down 2.1 triples on a dizzying 53.6 percent clip. Needless to say, the 28-year-old was an intergal part of the Bucks’ recent run — one that disappoitingly ended on Christmas Day against the New York Knicks.
Milwaukee did get back to winning ways on Wednesday, though, and once again, Portis was a key player in the victory.
“Just trying to look for ways to exploit some of the matchups,” Bucks head coach Griffin said entering Wednesday’s matchup against the Nets. “It’s tough. No one can guard Bobby down there. It’s tough to guard him 1-on-1. He has just great patience, knows how to get low, knows how to use his strength and get to the front of the rim. It’s hard to stop.”

Griffin executed his gameplan on Portis excellently against the Nets. Obviously, much of the credit needs to go to Portis himself as he’s been able to make a living out of making the most out of his time on the floor for the Bucks.
Expect Portis to keep it going on Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
